Moomin Mug - Moominmamma & the berries
The Moomins are the creation of a Finnish writer and artist, Tove Jansson, and have become one of Finland's most famous exports. The first Moomintroll story is about how Moomintroll and his mother venture out into the world to look for his missing father. The Moomins' world is their immediate surroundings, no more than a few days' travel, which became known as Moominvalley. This world is surprisingly like a rural landscape on earth, the sort of place that is inhabited by ordinary people. But it is also a fairytale world, and is thus much more varied and exciting than any of the valleys we may visit in reality. The Moomin mugs come from a collection of Moomin tableware made in Finland by Arabia, which is part of the Iittala group. They are made of porcelain and are dishwasher safe. Moominmamma very rarely gets cross and takes even the most distressing circumstances (such as the arrival of a comet, or being washed away by a flood) in her stride.
