Chateau Laguiole corkscrews are manufactured by SCIP, a family run business manufacturing high quality corkscrews & cutlery since 1850. Based in Thiers, the French capital of cutlery since the 12th century, SCIP offers an extensive hand made range for the cellar, the kitchen and the table, combining design and tradition. The Chateau Laguiole® brand was developed in 1994 with Guy Vialis, French Master sommelier in 1975. It synthesizes French expertise, good taste and the French art of living. All Château Laguiole corkscrews feature a bee on the spine, a design which comes from Napoleon Bonaparte's symbol for "industry, efficiency & productivity"- an ideal prestige gift.
